Problems of russian-balt identity on the crossroad of South-Eastern Baltia cultures

The article is devoted to the search of value core on the crossroad of the Baltic region where culture and geopolitics are inextricably linked against the background of dynamically developing processes of intercultural and intercivilizational adjustment of nations. This diachronic communication is clearly visible in the clash of geocultural and geopolitical images of civilizational space, whose development variants can later extend not only to Russia but all countries of Eastern Europe. The global civilization makes the modern life more comfortable for the socialized part of the society, more controllable for the elites in power. We have to ask a question: will these conveniences lead to universal leveling of personalities, alienation of people from their history of culture, traditions, to the loss of self identification. The new political situation in the post-soviet society, oriented to the pro-Western axiological prescriptions, had an impact on the cultural situation in the Russian exclave region of the South-East of Baltia (the Kaliningrad region), in which territory the interaction of different cultures is manifested in a special way. The author keeps to the opinion that the citizens of the Kaliningrad region are facing the choice to choose the integration on the minimized level or conscious preservation and development of traditional values of Russian culture. Therefore, the question of determining the self-identification of Russian Balts in the territory of the Kaliningrad exclave is of great strategic importance.
