Modern domestic symphony in social context
The article is based on the statistics made by the author on the materials of Wikipedia and the website of the Union of composers of Russia. The work quantitatively demonstrates the decline of interest of domestic authors to the genre of symphony in the last decade in comparison with the symphonic works of the second half of the XX century – about 60 symphonies. This reflects, in the opinion of the author, changes in the social relevance of the genre, due to the influence of two mechanisms prevailing in the 90s: new funding for the philharmonics and the widespread use of pop music.

Principles of suite form in orchestral music of darius milhaud
The article is devoted to the little-studied page of D. Milhaud’s work – his instrumental music. The author focuses on the problem of synthesis of genres, as an important style-forming feature of the composer ’s creativity. In a number of diverse genre mixes, the suite is a constant component affecting the overall style of orchestral compositions. Because of this, Milhaud’s orchestral music is considered in terms of influencing of the suite principle of the composer’s thinking. The essence of this phenomenon is analyzed in the article on the basis of the «Little Symphonies» chamber cycle, which vividly demonstrates the connection with the suite cycle.

Musical image and means of its realization (on the example of the fourth symphony of paintings by Alexander Beloborodov)
The article reveals the concept of image in a musical work and considers the factors that determine the stability of the associative series created by the composer by referring to certain archetypal properties of the musical material. Archetypes of listeners’ perception are the main factor in the search for the correct reading of the artistic content. Their recognition helps to decipher sometimes difficult code to access the world of individual author’s worldview, to complex linguistic structures of modern composer’s thinking. On the example of the Fourth Symphony of paintings by Alexander Beloborodov the author traces the influence of programming, genre, instrumentation, drama, as well as the social context of the creation of the work on the formation of its image-associative space.

The play for the clarinet solo L. Berio, whose work is associated with the development of the latest music of the last century, is considered. The modern writing techniques used in the play, new techniques and methods of sound extraction, various background possibilities of the instrument are revealed. The main regularities of phrasing, agogics, loud-dynamic balance of the composition, author’s recommendations influencing the creation of musical figurative content are determined.

Media forms of functioning of works for the russian folk instruments as reflection of trends of autonomous music
The article is devoted to identifying features in the functioning of music written for Russian folk instruments in text media forms. Based on the analysis of the music by N. Budashkin, V. Bibergan, D. Polevaya for films directed by A. Rou, A. Alyashev and O. Stefanova, it is proved that film music written for folk instruments, despite its specific features, follows the general trends of autonomous music, absorbing its stylistic features.

Specifics of functioning of the modern domestic author’s song in postmodern society
The article is devoted to the problem of functioning of the author-performer in modern society, considered on the example of contrasting comparison of creativity of L. Muradova (Krasnodar) and A. Kuznetsova (St. Petersburg). Within the framework of postmodern aesthetics, vocal compositions of female performers represent different facets of the author’s song of the XXI century. As a result of the analysis, the main themes of poetry are articulated, the specificity of style, the features of the musical language of works are revealed. The issues of reducing the quality of creative material are considered, as well as the attitude of modern authors-performers to commercial success.

Polystylistic trends in scenic genres on the example of the rock opera «Ksentaron’s legend» of the group «Epidemiya»
The article highlights the creative search of musicians in the field of music and performing arts, aimed at the synthesis of the literary genre of fantasy and modern rock opera. The paper explores the popular themes of rock operas, performing and instrumental composition, other components of the new musical and scenic action. On the example of analysis of the rock opera «Ksentaron’s Legend» put by «Epidemiya» – the Russian power-metal band, the trend of influence of a genre of fantasy on characteristic stylistic features of a genre of rock opera is considered. The study revealed that the basis of the rock operas listed in the work is melodic power metal, typical for the group «Epidemiya», but the conceptual creative task allows musicians to add and mix different directions of modern rock music, to put into action elements of symphonic rock and classical opera vocal. This stylistic device allowed to address the rock opera to a wider audience than the band’s work outside of this project.

The article provides a philosophical analysis of the existence of man and the formation of his essence in the experience of understanding the meaning of the existence of culture. The relevance of the article is due to the need to consider the cultural aspect of the transformation of views on the genesis of outstanding human abilities in the light of their continuity in the cultural tradition of the two border ages: the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Fate of the child prodigy: K.M. Dumchev
The article is devoted to one of the outstanding representatives of the Don Cossacks in art, which was the violinist Konstantin Mikhailovich Dumchev. The name of this remarkable musician thundered in the last decade of the XIX century and in the first decade of the XX century. The work highlights and clarifies information, related to the artist’s biography and his concert activity. For the first time, the essence of the giftedness of that category of children, who are called prodigy, is revealed. The causes of creative crises in children prodigy are revealed, based on the data of physiology and psychology. The role of thinking and work in the formation of a musician with outstanding motor data since childhood is shown. The description of the creative heritage of K.M. Dumchev, which was not published, is given.

About the color-tonal system of B. Asafiev in the ballet «White Lily»
The relevance of the chosen theme is due to the lack of studies in the Russian musicology devoted to the study of color-tonal drama in the works of B. Asafiev. The article first analyzed the image-color symbolism in the ballet «White Lily». It is proved that the composer ’s color-tonal associations are reflected in the score of the work both in the characterization of the characters and the interpretation of individual scenes.

Conditions of work with archaeological objects from metals in the field
