Author’s cycle “The liturgy of st. Ioann Chrysostom” in the works of the rostov composer-regent M.Yu. Skripnikov

The article was first held musical analysis published in 1919 liturgical cycle “Liturgy of St. Ioann Chrysostom” by M.Yu. Skripnikov (1881-1967). There is a continuity in the work of the composer of the “second plan” the tradition of the new direction of Russian sacred music, presented by outstanding musicians of the XIX-XX centuries. The relevance of the research is the direct relevance of the works of M. Yu. Skripnikov currently, in worship, in programs of spiritual concerts and festivals.

Creative portrait of N.K. Medtner in the context of an era of a turn of XIX–XX centuries

Relevance of a research is caused by N.K. Medtner’s contribution to development of musical culture and insufficient study of his creativity. In article, the circle of contacts of the composer at a turn of the 19-20th centuries is defined on the basis of personal correspondence of N.K. Medtner. Mutual influence of compositions of N.K. Medtner and works of the Russian symbolists of that time is revealed. Similarity of their esthetic views is proved.

Dialectical model of creativity as a cognitive experience

The article analyses the models of art creativity based on dichotomy of the Dionysian and the Apollonian elements. The research focuses on studying the mental space between “superior and inferior”spheres of reality (“mirage’s zone” by Vyach. Ivanov, “dream”by P. Florensky). The revealedsimilarity between models of creativity and Plato’s theory of knowledge as well as the resemblance to C. Jung’s theory of archetypesdiscovers a prospect of cognitive analysis for modern visual (theatrical) art by symbol.

F. Nietzsche and N. Fyodorov: opposition on the ideological and cultural field of the contemporary history

The article deals with two uncompromising cultural and philosophical conceptions – the pessimistic one, belonging to F. Nietzsche, and the life-asserting conception by N. Fyodorov. The authors reveal the genesis of the Nietzscheanism and the Cosmism. While the Nietzscheanism originates from the Gnostic pseudo-nominal synthesis, the Cosmism reveals Christian idea of the universe transfiguration. From the authors‘ position, Fyodorov wins twice in the battle against Nietzsche on the ideological and cultural field of the contemporary history.

N.А. Rimsky-Korsakov touches the deep foundations of the Russian character and the “Russian soul”. In the study of metaphysics and mythopoetic female characters the author comes to the conclusion about the Central place of the heroines he created a holistic conceptual picture of the world. Reveals the close relationship of man with nature, with the higher cosmic forces, God bless you. Women’s Opera images by Rimsky-Korsakov, as a symbol of the Soul of the World and the main core of the “cosmic myth”, presented in bipolarity, hierarchy and complementarity of light and dark forces. Represented by these images, the meanings and values that have universal significance, contribute to the identification of the Russian people and the search for convincing answers to the challenges of our time.

Monologue for solo violin

The article raises the question about the shaping of new genres of modernity on the basis of Azerbaijan’s national origins, the analysis of which is not sufficiently lighted in a series of modern studies. Khayyam Mirzazade creates the musical equivalent of the portrait of a Man of his time, his country. And he does it through the prism closest to the people genre: mugam. Conducting of musical-theoretical analysis of Monologue for solo violin Khayyam Mirzazade, the author concludes that the composer was able to create a special kind of musical mono-drama with unique styling intonations of folk instruments and voice.
